The average person will save $28/week gas tax holiday?
Fri May 02, 2008 at 04:22:29 AM PDT
That's what Glenn Beck says. Sounds better then $25 for the whole summer. $28 might make a difference. So let's do the math.
I spend about $60/wk on gas a short 20 minute commute up 95 from Philly to Levittown. But for Glenn's sake we'll round that up $100. Gas is $3.56/gal with a bullet heading way up the charts but I'll round that down to 3.50. Because I like round even numbers.

Tell Hillary to stop the attacks...
Thu Mar 06, 2008 at 06:06:04 PM PDT
I go to work and when I get home this is the shit I have to read about. It's sickening. She has no chance of overtaking the pledged delegate lead that Obama holds. So why is she doing it? I don't know.
Let's ask her to stop the attacks.
Is there any chance of a response? Maybe if we get enough people to send along the following comment:
Hillary stop the attacks on a fellow Democrat Barack Obama.

Breaking MD-Sen: Steele says that embryos should be adopted(w/poll)
Sun Oct 29, 2006 at 08:36:11 AM PDT
On Meet The Press in the deabte between Ben Cardin and Michael Steele, Michael Steele just said that embryos in fertilty clinics should be adopted instead of destroyed. That's right. Blastula in petri dishes that will never develop into human beings should be adotped.
When asked if funding for fertility clinics should stop and these fertility clinics shut down, he said he didn't know enough about this issue and again reiterated his point about adoption of embryos.
Ben Cardin didn't laugh him off the stage or even attack him for this utter nonsense because honestly he is not very good debater. But this Steele statement should easily be used against him and the anti-stem cell research anti-science crowd.
What should Oprah ask Bill O?
Wed Oct 25, 2006 at 01:41:02 PM PDT
Well Oprah caved under the pressure of Bill O'Reilly and will have him on her show.
I think there are two things that Oprah should do on her show on friday with Bill O'Reilly 1) invite Al Franken on as well and 2) since her show is based on the empowerment of women she should ask him about his sexual harassment of Andrea Mackris.
Join the disussion on Oprah's message board or email the shows producers to offer my suggestions.

Mark Warner Reinforces the Republican Frame...
Tue Sep 19, 2006 at 11:05:43 AM PDT
on tax cuts for the super wealthy. I've read other diaries on this subject and I know the Warner people are reading and defending Mark Warner.
For those that don't know what Warner said in Iowa here's the headline at Polticial Wire:
Warner Says Kerry Shouldn't Have Targeted Bush Tax Cuts
Boycott Monday Night Football and the Path to 911 w/ Update
Thu Sep 07, 2006 at 10:34:40 AM PDT
UPDATE: MSNBC reports that Clinton will not be satisfied unless ABC pulls the show
UPDATE II: ABC says that the editing process is not done and any reporting on the docudrama is false because the final version willnot be aired until Sunday night.
UPDATE III: Boycott MNF. I've changed my mind. Changing the name of the diary. I got better ideas from commenters.
Spike Lee, Katrina, and Daily Kos...
Tue Aug 22, 2006 at 06:24:50 PM PDT
There's an ad on this blog about this powerful documentary and I haven't seen any discussion. So I thought this would be a good forum to start one about it. What a powerful fucking film.
Tonights epsiode, which is the third, starts out hard on Bush and the media. Talking about Kayne West's statements, the guy who told Cheney to fuck himself with his personal footage and interview of the behind the scenes, and the media and politicians calling Americans refugees.
How to frame Lieberman tomorrow.....
Tue Aug 08, 2006 at 11:59:50 AM PDT
We all know now that Joe Lieberman and his campaign are going to lose. The fact that they are crying about their website joe2006.com being down has cost them the election is proof.
But this is probably his launching pad to an independent campaign on the Lieberman Party of one ticket. Funny that he claims that the internetz is made up of far left wing radical blogs but his website is now the cornerstone to his getting re-elected. Why is Joe courting the far left wing blog crowd that he so despises?
There's no room in the spotlight for Casey with Rendell
Sun Aug 06, 2006 at 06:53:35 AM PDT
What the fuck is up with these DLC centrists that beleive in the 90's style of politics?
Rendell is an egotist in the Clinton mold and when the light seems to shine too brightly on others he is quick to pull the plug and resort to Lieberman foot in mouth fox news democrat blurbs that help the Republican party.

Ask Republicans for their Phone Records
Fri May 19, 2006 at 01:27:53 AM PDT
This is a great idea. Perhaps someone like Mike Stark or the Roots project could coordinate this. Or if Democrats in Congress started asking for Republicans phone records live on C-Span.
A reporter for the York Daily Record, Mike Argento, called Rick Santorum's office and the following happened.

Bush to be interviewed on Colbert Report
Mon May 01, 2006 at 04:42:35 PM PDT
George Bush's will appear on Colbert Report on Tuesday. In the wake of Stephen Colbert's homage to George W Bush and smackdown of the DC Press Corps, the Colbert Report will be interviewing George Bush as the President promised on Tuesday.
Frank Rich could not be reached for comment. He was last seen headed north on the New Jersey Turnpike around the East Rutherford exit.
The question remains which George Bush will show up? Will it be the George Bush who has a sense of humor and can take a joke or will be it be the George Bush who says what he really thinks?

Bob Casey, the Worst Campaigner in the World...(w/ poll)
Sun Apr 09, 2006 at 06:18:35 AM PDT
What a great a candidate that the Democratic establishment has given us in PA. No mention of the debate from Bob Casey. There isn't much discussion of anything on Bob Casey's website.
Alan Sandals has a blog. Chuck Pennacchio claims to have won the debate and has links to live blogging of the debate. Bob Casey has no blog and the debate doesn't exist in Mr. Casey's world. We the netroots don't exist in Bob Casey's world. I can't wait for all the Casey supporters to come on the attack(especially Adam).
I got an idea for the Casey supporters below...
Dick Cheney Broke The Rules Hunters Can Live By . . . Ten Commandments of Shooting Safety
Mon Feb 13, 2006 at 05:27:35 AM PDT
It seems that the Corpus Christi Caller-Times has just gotten the story of a lifetime and have decided that they want to trumpet Republican propaganda and spin.
The story is being covered by Kathyrn Garcia(she received the call when Armstrong was looking for Powell) and Jaime Powell.
The headline on the Caller website is Whittington had not made presence known

Bob Casey, jr. is running a losing campaign
Fri Jan 27, 2006 at 04:31:48 PM PDT
All candidates responded except Bob Casey, jr.. Remember this line because it's becoming all too familiar.
Bob Casey's campaign strategy of running, ducking, and hiding will get him nowhere. Casey was also a no-show at a debate sponsored by the league of women voters in Harrisburg PA.
PA is a clear as the sky blue state. And this poll proves it and proves that contrasting yourself from Republicans and giving voters a choice is a winning strategy. But all candidates responded except Bob Casey, jr.
But the DC establishment wanted a name candidate while ignoring what is necessary to win against far right wing extremists. Like the establishment getting rid of Dean for the eventual loser Kerry, it's deja vu all over again.
"Anybody But Santorum", a failed campaign strategy
Thu Jan 26, 2006 at 12:14:27 PM PDT
How to run a winning campaign strategy straight from a hollywood movie. And who said that Bob Casey wasn't a liberal? "You know the name". Whether it's
ducking debates with Chuck Pennachio and Alan Sandals in the primaries after telling Michael Smerconish that he was going to debate his primary opponents(although he didn't name them by name) or his
ducking debates with Santorum who is calling him out.
