FISA, Obama, Whiskey, Sexy

Sat Jun 28, 2008 at 10:56:15 AM PDT

So I've been getting inundated with fundraising emails from Obama, Donna Brazille and the DSCC, and the Democratic Party asking me to help show the Republicans we mean business, and break some fundraising records before the end of the quarter. To each of their generic email addresses, I've responded with

Behave like Democrats and kill FISA and I'll think about it.

I have no idea if people will read them, but I have a funny feeling that this fundraising quarter will not be as impressive as previous ones or ones to come.

UPDATED: This Week in STFU (Give up Edwards Supporters)

Sun Jan 20, 2008 at 01:07:02 PM PDT

UPDATED:Give up Edwards supporters...on recommending every edwards related diary. Your efforts kept Pastor Dan's Brothers and Sisters off the REC list. And those of you telling Edwards supporters to drop their candidate. You too should STFU. Here's His Brothers and Sister that you ruined.

----

There have been some amazing substantial diaries this month. Most of them didn't mention your candidate. Additionally, there have been some pretty eloquent STFU diaries. ALL of these mention your candidate.

John Edwards Eats Babies

Fri Jan 11, 2008 at 05:05:08 PM PDT

Full disclosure: I was going to vote for Dodd. Now I'm clueless as to who I should vote for.

I've been a long time lurker at Daily Kos, rarely posting comments and even more rarely posting diaries, unless it was in the interest of posting for one of my clients. My favorite part of every day has been to visit the Recomended list to see what new morsel of news one might find. And generally there has always been something informative or substantial for me to chew on on that list. This last week however, its been not stop John fucking Edwards. This, sadly, is what has drawn me out of my shell to diary at Daily Kos.

It's Official: He's Running For President

Fri Oct 12, 2007 at 08:17:03 AM PDT

There's been speculation for ages, will he or won't he? In this crowded field of amazing and qualified candidates, one more is throwing his hat into the ring to make a difference for this great country.

While others have doubted him, he has quietly been building a media empire, talking to the great leaders of the world, building bi-partisan support for his chance to take the White House. He has strong stances on civil rights, foreign policy, healthcare and most importantly the ENVIRONMENT!

You are all patsies in Markos's hate America agenda. We at Advomatic can no longer tolerate your peacenik ideology. We cannot hide our true feelings. As we are people of faith, we feel a confession is in order.

GOPBloggers.org is BROKEN!

Thu Nov 09, 2006 at 04:30:45 PM PDT

So I went to the GOPBloggers.org website, home of Mark Noonan who predicted that the GOP would keep both the house and the senate (he has a fricken book deal, how's that work?), to see what they thought of the election results and lo and behold, when I got there the site was broken!

The top of their site seemed sort of out of place, unusual, not very accurate. It was missing a certain, as the french say, "I don't know what." It needed something new to launch them into the new era of Democratic dominance.

So I fixed the top of their site:

Air America Radio Statement RE: Boys & Girls Club

Thu Jul 28, 2005 at 05:02:07 PM PDT

Hey folks, I'm the webmaster over at Air America and there has been some discussion in the right wing blogosphere, basically accusing AAR of stealing from poor kids. BlatherWatch has the rundown.

Why Recruiters Are Scamming Teenagers

Tue Jun 07, 2005 at 12:10:56 PM PDT

Many people have already written about the ongoing recruitment scandals. Millitary recruiters intimidating teenagers in malls. Giving advice about forging documents. Not meeting their quotas. But I haven't seen much reported on the perhaps most important question.

Why are recruiters using such desperate tactics? What could possibly motivate them to act so crazy? Surely a job performace review will take into account the fact that no one wants to get their head blown off in Iraq. What could possibly motivate a man to reult to such underhanded tactics?

And I found out the answer.

They don't want to die.

All I Want For My Birthday is a Washington Recount

Fri Dec 03, 2004 at 04:20:36 PM PDT

Today is my birthday. I am now 29 years old. 29...not an incredibly exciting birthday. Nothing significant happens with the number 29. There's no adrenaline rush like when you turn 16 and can legally drive like a maniac (and then proceed to get pulled over for running a stop sign.) There's no euphoria like when you pray for someone to ID you when you buy that giant bottle of southern comfort, just so you can show them that you have indeed turned 21. There's no thrill like when you turn 25, hitting that quarter century mark, enabling you to rent a car more cheaply (the little things impress me folks.) And there is no absolute horror like when you turn the big 3-0 and realize it's all downhill from there. 29. Seriously boring.

URGENT: Kos Rsrch Dept. FL Kossacks: FL Needs your help! (Update)

Mon Nov 01, 2004 at 05:33:31 PM PDT

Hey Kossacks. I'm manning the complaint line in southern Florida for ACT and in the last two hours we have been receiving complaints from residents in Broward, Palm Beach and Ft. Lauderdale that they have received calls regarding a precinct change for their voting tomorrow. We need you to find all the news stations in our region in time for the 11:00 news. Please make clear that you only want them to notify Floridians that should they receive a call telling them that their polling place has changed that they should disregard it. Florida Kossacks should report any and all shenanigans they have bourne witness to as well. Here is the full complaint report from Voter Protect.

I'll start you off: WPTV NBC West Palm Beach News Room (561-653-5700.)

WPEC CBS Channel 12: 561-848-NEWS.

It would be awesome if you wouldn't mind notifying Air America as well. They can spread word to more Floridians to stop this madness. And please, reccomend the hell out of this diary, we need to crush them.

Back to the war room go I. Someone please take the lead here. We got them on the ropes. It's our time. GOTV, ya'll GOTV.

FL ACT Police Blotter & Good News Update

Sun Oct 31, 2004 at 05:09:21 PM PDT

Greetings, neighbors. I'm on the front lines in Florida, running the hotline that our canvassers and drivers call in to when they run into problems. Here are some of the highlights:

DIRTY NEWS

* In numerous afluent predominantly white gated communities throughout the region, the neighborhood association's presidents have been demanding that canvassers leave or they will call the police. Of course, our canvassers carry with them a delightful legal document, citing a supreme court ruling, Watchtower Bible and Tract Society Vs. Village of Stratton, 536 US 150, 162(2002). That's right, people, the Jehovah's Witnesses paved the way for us to Canvass. Mind you, both the police and the neighborhood security tend to ignore that and escort our people off their property anyways. Many of our canvassers also have legal backgrounds, thus emboldening them to take on most of these communities.

Obama Keyes Debate Replay

Illinois Senate Debate
WLS-TV
Barack Obama , D, Illinois
Alan Keyes , R, Illinois

This is sure to be a humdinger of a debate, what with Keyes being totally deranged and all. Obama smacks him down and explains the finer points of governing through sanity.

Bon Appetite.

CO-4: Matsunaka Closes on Musgrave: 4 Points Separate Them!

Fri Oct 15, 2004 at 12:09:19 PM PDT

I'm from Colorado, originally, so this is an issue close to my heart. A friend of mine there, working closely with a variety of campaigns has informed me of some great news about the internal polling there. Stan Matsunaka has moved within 4 points of Marilyn Musgrave, the fanatical right winger whose sole contribution to the greater good is writing the Federal Hate Amendment, according to Marilyn's internals. Apparently, she can't get above 45% support for re-election. She has 52% negatives. So with a little more help we can beat her. I've created a donation page over at ActBlue. I've included my whole pitch for Stan at CFA. Let's make this happen, people. If you've got an extra $50 laying around, toss it his way. It would be nice to bring this congress back to the middle, and eliminating Musgrave will be a great step in the right direction.

UPDATE: We already have $150 in donations! Thanks! Keep it coming!

Not that anyone here needs a reminder, but I ran across this news story and it really made me remember why we can not be complacent on any day of the week for the rest of the election cycle. I'm cross posting from CFA.
