Everyone Shut Up about VP Being Hillary

Thu Aug 07, 2008 at 10:59:15 PM PDT

First of all we have all been predicting who will be the vice president for Obama. We recently heard tonight that Bill Clinton will speak on the third night prior to the vice president's speech. This does not mean Hillary is the vp nominee because she is speaking the second night which is the night before Bill speaks.

Say it isn't so...

Shameless Sebelius Plugging and How Hillary Clinton Can Shape Her Legacy

Thu Aug 07, 2008 at 09:16:39 PM PDT

While some are still talking about it, it seems that Hillary Clinton's chances of becoming VP are pretty slim -- about 8%, to be exact. It's still possible she might be chosen, but let's go with the odds for a moment and assume that she is not. How might she improve her image, build herself a lasting legacy, and remind the droves of Democrats like us of why we so admired her in the first place?

I have a suggestion, which would be very simple in theory, but in practice would require a good deal of sacrifice on Sen. Clinton's part: Hillary should come out and publicly endorse the idea of a female Vice President, and ask that Obama take herself out of consideration.

Obama gets it. His supporters don't

Thu Aug 07, 2008 at 09:00:34 PM PDT

Barack Obama knows that the media is spreading a bunch of stories quoting anonymous sources, as is usual when it comes to manufactuting fights between him and Hillary.

Don't explect Obama supporters, who love a fight, to be as wise as Obama. They will believe anything they read as long as the reporter claims John Doe confirmed it.
From CNN today:

"There hasn't been controversy other than what you guys are projecting right now," he told reporters. Obama described conversations between the two campaigns over convention planning as "seamless." "It has not been a problem," he said.

It is no wonder that while his blogosphere supporters cried "racism!" over the "celeb" video by McCain, Obama pointed to the ad's true weaknesses, at one point observing that McCain's campaign is "cynical, not racist."

Hillary Clinton stands 100% behind Obama unless a non-anonymous source proves otherwise.

PUMA Fantasies

Thu Aug 07, 2008 at 08:41:34 PM PDT

PUMA (Party Unity My Ass) wants Hillary's name put into nomination at the Democratic convention this month. It's not going to happen. But let's suppose it did. What are the possible outcomes?

Manipulative Hillary At It Again.

Thu Aug 07, 2008 at 08:29:04 PM PDT

No sooner does Barack Obama step out on a well deserved family vacation, then Hillary Clinton starts right in with her same conniving and manipulative tricks.  Now the self-absorbed, entitled, satchel-assed cackler is rabble-rousing her "eighteen million" post menopausal yentas supporters to demand Her Excellency’s name be put forward for a poisonous roll call in Denver.

A parable for gullible Democrats.

This Convention Needs to Be Business

Thu Aug 07, 2008 at 05:43:23 PM PDT

I'm 54 years old and have sat glued to the TV throughout my life watching the spectacle of political conventions both Republican and Democrat.  I've seen the long roll calls, some of which were actually in doubt.  It's an exhilarating time for Americans huddled around their TV sets especially if they really sunk their hearts into one or more of the candidates.

There's indications that the Democratic Convention in Denver is moving towards one of these nights when history repeats itself and we get to sit and watch it all play out again.  This is not the time....`

Can Obama Still Lose the Nomination?

Thu Aug 07, 2008 at 05:43:13 PM PDT

Can Obama Still Lose the Nomination?

Yes he can. His demand to fully seat Michigan and Florida delegates is extremely stupid. With the full delegates of these two states seated Obama will have less than 50 pledged delegates advantage and an opportunity for Hillary Clinton to win the nomination by convincing the Super Delegates to switch for her as Obama is not pulling way ahead of McCain so far.

So prepare for hell at the Denver and it is all the fault of the GRACIOUS Obama.

McCain ad makes valid point.. why Hillary is a sore point for convention

Thu Aug 07, 2008 at 05:13:43 PM PDT

Recently, there has been quite a bit of stir about the ads from the McCain camp, what they represent, whether they work or not.  But, on one point, his most recent ad "Maverick" makes a point that is devestatingly accurate - proving the point most Obama fans  (and reasonable) people have known for a while, that Hillary's play for VP or any significant position at the convention is a very, very bad idea.

Al Gore, patriot.

Thu Aug 07, 2008 at 03:09:25 PM PDT

We have arrived at an interesting moment, in the campaign and in our nation's history, a moment which presents a unique opportunity. I backed Obama early and am convinced he should be our next president. I believe he has unique leadership skills, suited to the moment at hand, that will enable him to guide the country through a time of crisis. Like many others here, I'd also hoped that somehow Al Gore would be involved in this election cycle.

Hillary on MSNBC Still not satisfied. They need more.

Thu Aug 07, 2008 at 02:42:03 PM PDT

Well,I have been talking for months in my Diaries and comments about how disruptive this "Celebrity Couple" will continue to be.It now appears they will not cease their antics until they are completely sure Obama is under the bus and there is no sign of a pulse.

So now it is confirmed. Bill still refuses to answer questions about as to whether he thinks Obama is qualified to be President. He is described as "angry."

Hillary  says she thinks he is qualified but she says her supporters are not satisfied. On MSNBC  a few minutes ago she is shown answering a question from one of her kool aid people. The woman asks "Well as you know the delegate count was extremely close;so what happens if they put your name in nomination and you win by a tiny majority? OMG, the crowd starts hootin and Hill stops them, laughing and stomping, she responds:

What's Happened to "Good sport"?

Thu Aug 07, 2008 at 12:57:28 PM PDT

What's happened to the notion of bowing out gracefully?

What's happened to the good form of the loser jogging to the net to extend a hand to the winner?

What's happened to common sense, manners and just plane good conduct?

When did "Survivor", "Lost", and "American Idol" become the standard for conduct at every level of American society, and why the hell do serious people like Julian Epstein find themselves trying to plaster over the infantile behavior of the Clinton's, and their ridiculous supporters?

The Case Against Obama

Thu Aug 07, 2008 at 12:31:41 PM PDT

David Freddoso is a conservative political reporter for the right-wing website National Review Online. In his recent book The Case Against Barack Obama (subtitled The Unlikely Rise and Unexamined Agenda of the Media's Favorite Candidate) Freddoso unsurprisingly outlines the case against Barack Obama which is essentially that Obama is not an idealistic reformer but in fact a shrewd and cynical political operator whose political career evolved from the milieu of corrupt Chicago-style machine politics.

Hillary Introduces Transit Relief Bill

Thu Aug 07, 2008 at 12:14:40 PM PDT

Yesterday I posted a news item about Hillary's attack on the Bush crony contracts.  Today I found an item about her senate bill on federal aid to local transit authorities.

Obama's Troubles Continue, and They Just Got a HELLary of a Lot Worse

Thu Aug 07, 2008 at 12:04:46 PM PDT

Poor Barack. He has enough to do, what with trying to match his flip-flops to the day's outfit, trying to remember how many U.S. States there are, or offering minority audiences reparations of "...not just words, but deeds", and offering to solve the energy crisis by inflating our car tires. Now he is suffering from over-exposure, under-preparation, and the return of the 800 pound elephant to the room.
