If Al Gore decides not to enter the 2008 presidential election is not because he is afraid that he can’t beat Hillary Clinton on this election – it will be because he is afraid of what the next US president is going to inherit from the Bush years.
I wrote an article that was published in February 2005 that pretty much gives in a nutshell some of the reasons that Al Gore might be considering right now that will prevent him from jumping into the 2008 presidential race.
Here are some of the reasons that is scaring Al Gore in case he becomes the president of the United States in November of 2008.

Let’s be realistic Al Gore has achieved almost all he can achieve as former vice president regarding the issue of global warming.
He might get one more honor on October 12, 2007 when he wins the Nobel Peace Prize for his efforts regarding global warming.
After that he has pretty much done all he can do about that issue - other than continue a re-run of his slide show.
Al Gore brings to the table a unique set of credentials that would be very important to have in the next four years – not only in relation to global warming but also to repair the reputation and prestige of the United States around the world.
In the next few weeks we will meet the real Al Gore – is he going to take the easy way out, and hide behind a slide show – or Al Gore is going to show that he has "COURAGE" and he is the man that a lot people admire including myself.
Why courage?
Because the next president of the United States will inherit a massive mess from the current administration in the domestic and international areas because the country has not been mismanaged like that since 1776.
That’s why we will meet the real Al Gore in the near future, and his final decision to run or not to run is going to answer a few questions for all of us such as:
- Does Al Gore have the courage to jump in such as mess in an effort to turn things around not only in the United States but also in the Middle East?
- Is Al Gore that great Statesman – that we expect him to be?
- Can Al Gore end the war in Iraq and bring the US troops home - resulting in the stabilization of the Middle East?
- Can Al Gore move to the next level on his fight against global warming considering that the next level can be accomplished only if he gets elected president of the United States in November of 2008?
