That's what this is; an election about nothing.
Kerry wins Virginia and Tennessee. So what?
Electoral College
Who's going to win what States hasn't changed a bit. Democrats and Republicans have about 230 EVs each.
States in play are BIG RIVER: MN, IA, MO, AR, LA; SAGEBRUSH: OR, NV, AZ, NM; BORDER: WV
We've gone over that ground many times.
Timing
It won't be clear what is going right or wrong until next summer.
The Rove strategy is pretty well known, but might get a few frills added and subtracted.
The Kerry strategy is not clear. He's getting away with Big Muddy right now. It is unknown how that will be accepted by the voters in 6 months. How Kerry is doing will be best measured in the contested States (listed above).
What Change?
Kerry says his campaign is about change, but never says "fundamental change," or "big change" or anything like that. Those are Dean phrases. So, I take it Kerry is all about some change, maybe moderate change; but nothing scary or angry.
For myself, Kerry stands for very little change. On the major issues - the War and the Economy - Kerry is either confusing or not far from George W Bush. I think the point of his campaign is that you can trust him, whereas Bush is untrustworthy.
Maybe. Maybe not. For me, an election already about nothing. I'm not a Boomer, never watched Seinfeld, and don't sepnd time on nothing.
